Chased by Their Church

David-Miscavige

A damning new chapter to the David Miscavige crime series has been published by the St. Pete Times.  More people speak out about the abuse they faced inside Scientology as well as after they left, as Miscavige hired PI’s to dig into their lives, their finances and their relationships.   As former members tried to move on with their lives, Miscavige was obsessed with what dirt they might spill about him.

I was startled to see David Lubow appear in this video.  He was the man behind the Nigerian attack on Bob Minton.

Two more articles are coming on Monday and Tuesday in this ongoing series.  Read them all here along with Scientology’s ten page response, printed in full.

That is the creepiest picture. Even if I didn’t know about DM, that pic would creep me out.

  2. Artoo45 says:

These are heady days indeed for critics of the cult. I can’t believe it was just 10 years ago I first started reading alt.religion.scientology and xenu.net. They still had some fight in ‘em back then.

Then there was Southpark and the summer of couch jumping and then the birth of anonymous. It’s been all downhill from there. Then there was last week: France. Haggis. Nightline. Now the third part of the Truth Rundown series. As obnoxious as I find Tommy Davis, I do fear for his well being right about now. I put my money on Miscavige having Borderline Personality Disorder, and if you have the misfortune of knowing anyone so afflicted, you know that when they’re under pressure anything can happen. Run Tommy, run!

  3. Dr. Pickles says:

I share Artoo’s concern for Tommy Davis’ future. If Tommy were to blow (and I mean leave, not what he does for Miscavige nightly), it would be a huge nail in CO$’ coffin. He might actually be an alright guy without DMs hand up his ass giving the media a puppet show.

Tommy, if you ever leave I’ll buy us a bottle of Jack Daniels and we can go 2D the BTs off some skanky hookers.

  4. Freedom says:

Although I am glad to see all the people leaving the “church” I still find it amazing that people actually bought into and still buy into the philosophies of LRH. The guy was a wing-nut, a fiction writer, although he had some unique ideas. If you want to help the world or want to feel good about yourself, go be a volunteer at your local YMCA or local soup kitchen, or you take the 400,000 you spent or will end up spending on the Co$ and help build an abuse shelter. There are so many other constructive things you can do with your time and money other than donating it to the corrupted self-serving cult that is the Co$. DM is going down and so is the Co$, its only a matter of time

  5. Mr. Xenu says:

How weak of mind and lost do you have to be to even want to look into joining this insane cult…Scientology is not a religion or a church it is an idea based on halucinations from the mind of a wing-nut fiction writer. I mean come on people, wake the hell up. Although he was a wing-nut he was also a genius because he managed somehow to wrangle millions of people out of their money and their minds. LRH should not be renowned for creating Scientology but for successfully messing up the lives of millions with his whacked out science-fiction based concepts. People if you want to feel good about yourself and you really want to help people just volunteer your time to causes in your community. Local soup kitchens, YMCA`s, homeless and abuse shelters, all need volunteers and the people actually appreciate your time put in. Oh yeah and the $400,000 you wasted or will need to waste on Co$ would be better served feeding some starving people in a third world country or even your own community. Dm and the Co$ are going down, its only a matter of time and it can`t happen soon enough.

    Peace out

  6. Anonymous says:

Everything is going great, its like a domino effect,if this conitinues then Miscavige will try something stupid to stay in power, which will show him for what he really is.

  7. Larry says:

Two points I want to contend with Freedom and Mr Xenu. First, Elron was bright, but not a genius. I have yet to really see any UNIQUE ideas from Elron. Maybe a interestng combination of other’s ideas that I haven’t seen before, but really, it’s all rehash of some idea that was formed somewhere else. Second, Scientology hasn’t affected MILLIONS of people. I would put the number under 250,000 people total who have been involved with the church past just reading a book of theirs.

But I whole-heartedly agree that Scientology is a cult and a waste of effort for humankind.

  8. Mr. Xenu says:

Larry, you need to remember that though the actual number of scientologists may be around 250,000 that every one of those people has parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, friends, grandparents etc. and all those people are affected by the actions of one…

  9. Megaroni says:

Oh my God, what is WRONG with David Miscavidge?! I can’t believe he’s been getting away with all this violence, it’s outrageous. You just hear more and more about his insane-ness. Keep it coming. It seems that the time is just about here for him to be thrown/forced out, punished in some way.. Preferably prison. What a psycho!
    Terrible stuff.
Also, I agree with Freedom completely; I can’t understand why people would support Scientology even when Miscavidge is gone. LRH was totally crazy.

Who’s going to adopt Miscavidge’s dog when he gets what he deserves?

  10. Scam Shamalam says:

I know where the proper response to Tommy would begin— with L.Ron’s quotes about double curving a reply, saying that Scientology would like to see an investigation of the accusers, and that Scientology should always attack and never defend. The 10-page letter is true to L.Ron’s tech. And that is the only thing that it is true to.

I would like to ask Tommy how Rinder and Rathbun changed from being the lieutenants in the most ethical organization in the world to suppressives on the lunatic fringe so quickly. Why didn’t the cult deal with them when early on in their violent phases? The history of the Scientology is filled with defectors. Who will be the next one to go renegade? Why do so many people associated with the cult of Scientology turn into lunatics? It is supposed to create supersane people. Obviously, it just doesn’t work. It seems to do the opposite.

He leaves out the parts about Mary-Sue going to jail along with many other Scientology executives in the US. He leaves out the part about Scientology being the only criminally convicted church in Canadian history. He talks about the Spanish case as though Spain went after them for 14 years. In fact, Scientology dragged out the case for so long that I suspect the witnesses disappeared. It is a common ploy when fighting a case that is otherwise a lost cause. He doesn’t mention Larry Wollersheim, Bonnie Woods, or the many other cases that they have lost. He doesn’t mention that (according to Marty Rathbun on The Current) Scientology has a billion dollar war chest for fighting these battles. They win for the same reason OJ did.

Actually, I suspect that Tommy is right in thinking poorly of Marty Rathbun and Mike Rinder. I have never met the men but I suspect they are still quite twisted. But they have made several steps in the right direction. Let’s see how far they will come.

Anyway the article Tommy confronts deals only with peripheries. Even if everything he said was 100% right and true I think that he has yet to answer the fundamental question— Why can Scientology charge people exorbitant fees for things they cannot produce? The fraud begins with Dianetics The Modern Science of Mental Health and goes on through OT8. He should be happy about the St. Pete’s article. It’s a distraction from the French allegations, which are just as true in the United States.

  11. johnny d says:

I am no longer surprised by what I here concerning the cult and their leader.
What i still cant wrap my head around is the way they insist that everyone coming forth- for that matter all of their critics- are liars. Do they really expect the general public to believe that all of these people are liars? it is truly mind boggling, but then again we are talking about the Co$.

  12. Mike says:

The written response from the church says that everything has been peachy since all these nasty people left. Quote:

“The Church is not just expanding, it is exploding!”

No argument there. A little more exploding and we’ll see what’s left.

  13. zenoo says:

You know…the thing that strikes me is the blatant lies. Not just the stretches of the truth but the out and out lying that is so obvious as to be crazy…It is like you are looking at a blue card and they are screaming it is red.

  14. Scientologist says:

What? Wogs are not supposed to see the difference between the truth and a lie, that’s for sure.

  15. StevieB says:

All of the these high profile defectors speaking out against DM is great. However, a lot of these people (Rathbun especially) are still Scientologists. They still believe in the Tech, going clear, The Bridge, etc. They blew from the organization but still practice Scientology. So, I have mixed feelings about it. Seeing Rathbun and Rinder out is great, but they need to come to the conclusion that Scientology itself and the teachings of LRH are dangerous. If you read up on the old days when LRH himself was in charge you will learn about things so scary that they make DM slapping around some executives seem like picnic.

  16. XSO says:

Someone has to grab that little Miscavidge bitch by the short hair and smack his ass so hard that by the time he wakes up, his clothes will be old fashioned.

  17. Krueger says:

Has David Miscavige EVER been caught on tape by any Anonymous members?? The only video I have ever seen on him is the 1992 Nightline Ted Koppel interview and the Scientology awards. Why can’t anyone ever catch a glimpse of this guy on video or in person? Does he ever leave the building?
